Sorry it took so long for me to post some images of the event but Gosh I got home and got swamped with work! Not that I am complaining work is good...keeps the light no, food on the table, makeup products all stoked up...

So here are some Images of the IMATS. This Year I went for both Saturday and Sunday! Last year I realized that one day is to short to really get the whole experience of this Event.
So Saturday was all day classes learning on tricks and tips of makeup and business, Sunday I took some classes but also wondered around a bit more to take pictures, buy some products and socialize.

So here are the pics!

IMATS Los Angeles

IMATS is in town! This Weekend!

OK not in "town", I actually have to drive for 2 hours to Pasadena ...but it's so totally worth it!

So... like every year, I have my product list ready, my pre-selected list of classes to take and this year I added a secured bed to crash on, (yeah) that way I get to go for both days!

Master classes are offered on Friday but that is something for next year.

I'm ready! Who will be there?

2010 Walk For Animals!

Nail Art: Cute

Fashion..."when it comes to fashion, no heels can be too high, no clothes can be too uncomfortable", no hair can be too outrageous, and no nails can be to flashy or cute!
Well I guess that is up to interpretation. Japan is the leader of extreme fashion not just in clothes and accessories but now also in Nails! Yep, you will never have a boring manicure again!
Did you know that there is a "Asia Nail Festival" in Osaka Japan?
How about a Japan Nail Association?
That is what I call taking your nails seriously!

On that note let me show you some of the images I have found online while working on my "The Makeup Artist and The Manicure" article.

The Makeup Show LA

Adventures! Adventures!!!

This was a fun one...a bit disappointing on some aspects, but super cool on others..

Let's start from the basics...
The Makeup Show LA is a Trade show for Pro-Makeup Artist.
Location is The California Market Center in LA, approximately 2 hours way from home (with no traffic) The show is for 2 days, so it's still happening today...but I decided to just go yesterday, and save some chips for the IMATS!

My Adventure partners were Amanda, Nancy and John. It's nice to have people you like around especially when the hamsters start running like crazy! And when the 4 of us are together...oh my...one got to really hold on. We are Trouble!!!

The show was great, but mostly Beauty oriented, a whole lot of beauty products, beauty seminars and beauty workshops, so much to do, so much to learn and the inspiration...the magic of being around so many artist...it's magnificent! So much Creativity in one space...but it's all Beauty...no SFX here, no prosthetic made dead body laying around, no blood and no fangs.

I felt highly under dressed...me and my Chasire Cat Sweater, but hey I went there to learn soak in some creativity, get inspiration and replenish products!

The disappointing aspect, aside from the lack of blood, was the lack of Pashur. I was really unhappy when I discovered that he was no were around...well or no were where I could see him!!! so yes I was very very sad, and what irked me is that there was no change noted in the schedule...no signs that the seminar was changed anywhere where I could see...just all of a sudden the speaker starts taking and well it's not Pashur!!

Well the "replacement" speaker was good, and good thing I like him too so no loss on the liking part and since this happened last year too (change of seminar with no notice) I was quite disappointed.

Just a note: most of the images were taken using a Camera Phone...so the quality is not as amazing as I hoped...that will teach me to remember my camera next time...
Image or the Disco Ball Body Paint was snapped my Nancy...no matter where I looked I could not find him anymore :(

The Makeup Show LA February 28 - March 1, 2010

Pro-Artist and other beauty industy professionals

Why:

Because..."It's the west coast must-attend event for anyone in the business of makeup and beauty"

What to do:

• Buy Ticket...Date Feb 28.
• Confirm Car pool with Amy and Amanda...this will make the 2 hour drive more enjoyable.
• Meet up with Keith and John prior to show...just to kick it.
• Be at show by 9:30 am! First Seminar start at 9:45 am! While Key notes will start at 10:30 am.
• Make list of items needed....and try...try to stick to it for once!!!
• Makeup a budget without breaking the bank...OK I shall try!!!
• Bring Camera, paper to write on, junk food to snack on, comfortable shoes...

The Goal:

• Replenish Supplies
• Learn new trick and trades
• drool over makeup

Gothic Thanksgiving Photoshoot I

What happens when a whole bunch of Ghoul and Creatures get together for a Photoshoot?

Well we had a Feast!

There was lots of Blood, screams, growls, hisses, lots of flashes, some posing, and of course Laughter... and some where there was also some Chicken...

The Fest was hosted by 2 Crazy individuals...C. Alexander and Stormie Psy, Yours Truly (Me LOL) was assigned to create a Makeup and Hair Team for the event.

We had 19 Photographers, 18 models, 8 Makeup and Hair Stylists in attendance, no wounder poor Jade was being ripped apart and then someone found a young boy under the table...poor thing will have nightmares for the rest of his childhood...then might turn crazy like the rest of us.

Anyhow in between all the commotion we did get some images, but those will come later, for now enjoy images form the Feast ;)=

One making custom Vampire teeth. (get your order in way before Halloween).

One with custom dolls. Hand made with evil design.

Goth Tea Images :) Round 2

Ok, I know it has been a while...but I have finally the time to upload some more images.
These images are from the Goth Tea Party, that was hosted by C. Alexander, Stormie Psy and Me back in April.
I was in Charge of Organizing the Hair and Makeup team, so I only worked on 2 models.

Goth Tea Party

On April 11Th, Craig, Stormie Psy and I had a tea party...but because there is nothing normal about us we hosted a Goth Tea Party!!
We invited a few friends and had a blast!

OK it sounds pretty easy...it was not easy, but it was so much fun!
