Ballerina

Hallo Y'all!!!!
Just received a few more images the Beautiful Ballerina Haley Kai by North County Portraits.
This are the second set of a photoshoot I did back at the beginning of March...It taks sometimse to chose and retouch images so 2 to 3 weeks is usually the normal procesing time, and f you have the right photographer, well the work speaks for itself. Enjoy!!

The Makeup Show LA 2009 Preparation....

What to do!!!
One week away form The Makeup Show LA!!!
I found my partner in crime....Kari aka Black Rose Makeup!

We are to travel to LA in the morning and be there till they kick us out!!!
I have myself semi-packed already!

I got a list down on what I need....but I got the major things done....check oil and tires of the car, googled the location, got the thickets, charged the camera and pulled out the backpack!

I have a list of some of the items I need for my kit.
I have a list of snacks that I need to buy to prevent myself form starving...or forgetting to eat.

Now I just need to figure out how to plan my day....

Mayhem host several contest for every months, form daily images, to weekly and finally the most prestigious of them all the monthly contest. For a Makeup Artist, Body Painter, Fashion Designer and Hair Stylist the monthly contest is the Golden Brush Award.

Every month a Theme is selected by the Previous month's winner and Makeup Artist, Hair Stylist and Wardrobe Designers competed for the privilege to be nominated winner and receiving the Golden Brush Badged.

No there is not monetary value to the Badge...that would be nice, but once you win it, you get bragging rights!! And in a industry where value is place on recognition on "who knows you", a Badge takes a whole value onto itself.

My Product Choice for this Week is....

I just recently bought the Lumiere Creme Wheel after a reccomendation from a fellow artist.
I am usually not big in Creme Makeup since the dry time can be long and creasing can happen if not applied properly.
Ben Nye Lumiere Cream Wheel has six bold, shimmering shades for sizzling beauty or fantasy accents. Add bold sizzle to glamour or fantasy design. Set these luminescent cremes with either Ice or Iced Gold Luxe Powder for a shimmering finish.

Lumier Shades are Aztec Gold, Azalea, Cosmic Blue, Royal Purple, Jade, Ice.
What I like about it...
It can be stacked; so the more layer the darker the color.
It's water proof...great for underwater shoots.
It's sweat proof....so you can go out dancing.
If set with powder it drys quickly and stays on forever...with a more matted look
With a Finish Seal it say on forever plus has a shimmery finish.
It can be used on eyelids, lips, cheeks, or anywhere else on the body.
It has enough pigment that can be also use just as an eyeliner!
So there! My new addition!
Now I just need to go and try it out on the job!

Shoot for the Cure Images!


Time has passed and now we can see the fruits of our labor...
The Charity Photoshoot at the Wooden Nickel Ranch in Menifee was a Success!

We were able to raise an amazing $2,800.00 towards the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
In attendance there were 27 Beautiful Models, 4 Talented Makeup Artists, 4 Fabulous Hair Stylist, and 57 Amazing Photographers!

I had the pleasure to work with 5 Models and 1 Steelers' Fan/Owner of the Wooden Nickel Ranch.

HD Hight Dedinitnion Powder

This is, according to me, one of the best powders in the history of face powders!!!

So light, so fine, so wonderful and long lasting under the bright light of the studio light! A must have in every makeup kit, whether personal or professional J

What it does:
MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Micro finish Powder provides all you need for a glowing complexion. This 100% mineral silica powder softens the appearance of imperfections, sets foundation, and mattifies the skin without changing its natural contours. Its translucent powder matches any skin-tones. For those of us obsessed with contouring this is perfect since it will not change the color of the contour application. It’s super fine and goes on easily, a little bit goes a loooong way.

What else you need to know:
It's free of talc and parabens and can be used on even the most sensitive of skins, and being free of Talc means that it great to use for photography…no shine!

I have been using this powder for some time and I use it on 90% of my clients...the other 10% have perfect complexion or are too young to wear makeup!

What I find Amazing about the HD High Definition Powder:
1. can be used on any skin tone/color
2. It can be used on any skin types
3. Helps even out skin tones
4. It does not allow creasing
5. It removes even the most stubborn shine spot
6.It can be applied with a brush, sponge, napkin or Q-tip (for the difficult to reach areas!)
7. Less is more; a little bit goes a long way!
8. I only have to apply it once!

On March 15 and 16, 2009 the makeup industry will come together to celebrate the craft of the professional makeup artist for the first time ever - at the global epicenter of entertainment and glamour - Los Angeles.
Like The Makeup Show NYC and Miami, The Makeup Show LA will be a pro-artist event for everyone in every area of the makeup industry. We'll deliver the same pro-driven, artistically inspired, celebratory energy of The Makeup Show to the west coast, and bring together your top brands and inspirational artists and educators for two amazing days of community, career and craft building.
It's the west coast must-attend event for anyone in the business of makeup and beauty.

The Makeup Show LA is a pro-only trade event open to anyone involved with the makeup artist industry. Makeup artists, retail artists, aestheticians, hairstylists, fashion stylists, agents and bookers and of course students of makeup, hair or aesthetics are invited to attend. Proof of profession or student status is required.
Admission to The Makeup Show LA includes all seminars and lectures, full access to the show floor and in-out privileges. Entry to The Makeup Show LA also allows participants access to great hands-on workshops. These hands-on workshops are only available to attendees of the show and are at an additional fee. Schedule will be posted in Fall 2008.
