Mehron's Paradise Makeup Detaiz

My new Addiction!!!!

Body Paint is one of my new addictions!! I have been preparing for a Gallery Show in January...where I will be hanging some of my body paint-canvas paining high breeds ... so I have been doing some research on some of the best body paint products out there...
My results well...there are sooo many but here is my new passion-addiction-time consumed doing stuff that others do not understand…Ok I got a few…like reading, paining, scribbling, sleeping, being overall lazy lol!!!

Detailz is one of the fantastic products in Mehron’s water base makeup line. Created to tickle the fancy of all makeup artists and body painters! Detaliz comes in a variety of colors, a convenient screw top, a build in applicator/brush and it washes off with soap and water! so no permanent mark...at least not on the body and face. It is a surprisingly flexible product that can be used as an every day eyeliner to fantastic and intricate body painting. Detailz liquid makeup can be used to create perfect dots, spots and fine lines, highly detailed and intricate patterns and unique artistic creations.

Easy to use and super flexible, this is a must for any body painter or Creative/Fantasy Makeup Artist.
I am slowly adding to my collections, started with the basic, black and white I now have gold, red, blue, yellow and purple…soon I will have them all!!! The can definitively add that extra touch in a designe and the tip is so fine that intricate and detailed work is a piece of cake to do!

Delailz can be purchased online at the Mehron’s website or if you live in San Diego, like I do, I suggest you stop by Gypsy Treasures in La Mesa. The have the best selection for Creative Makeup and Body Paint in San Diego County!!

Prize range form $4 to $8.50...cheaper than some most eyeliners out there!!

Ok got to go

Green and Yellow

There is time for "doodling"...and some more time for "doodling". Even since the decision (thanks to the hubby) was made that I was going to re-create my “doodles” on the body, I have been strategizing on how to achieve the best possible outcome!

Green and Yellow...

My second "from Canvas to Body" piece! ...and being only the second piece I did have a lot to learn… and so my list of “rules” continues…

This is the piece that solidified the belief that a controlled environment is necessary to really emphasize and appreciate the beauty of my body-paint…and the one where I learned that, for this particular project, a full nude model is preferred due to the post-processing work required to make the image look smooth and line-less…

Overall result…Wonderful, I loved every minute of it!

My team for this project was:

Larry Nixon ... photographer/friend/super patient person (...I can be a handful) and the cause of all the bunny pictures I have on my flikr!

AmyLynn ... Super Sweet and Super Talented Makeup Artist! She was not only super helpful with the base paint; she was the Genius behind the hair and face makeup (aside from the doodles)

And the Fabulous Audrey Vanessa ... the ultimate in professionalism and commitment! Vanessa had emergency appendicitis surgery a few days prior to the shoot!! And declined to reschedule since we planned this shoot over a month earlier! I have to say that I was truly impressed...and a bit scared...and a bit shocked! Vanessa rocked the shoot and gave us some amazing images!

CG Exact Eyelight Eyeshadow!

My new addiction is Cover Girl Exact Eyelights Eyeshadow
I found it at Target while shopping for a new mascara. The colors attracted me, even though there is not fancy packaging with rainbows and unicorns on it.

I love this thing! You can match it to your eye color (yeah I got brown that is why the link brings you the brown shades) you can wear all 4 colors, or just 3 or just 2, and in any combination. And in any way, I keep mixing it up to see what would look good, and so far I came up with 5 different styles I like.

It really does give you an extra bust of color, and shine, my hubby says that my eyes sparkles (yeah well I know… he should say that all the times...but he doesn't)!!!I have been playing with it for the past 2 weeks and still love it, thinking of including it in my pro kit (yeah I carry cover girl in my kit and even NY...so what???? I got all the fancies stuff too)
I use it alone or add a shadow primer under it, it works well either way, and I add the Exact Eyelight Mascara with it…the mascara has a small amount of sparkles in it!!

Art...A part of Me

Art...What is it? How to define it? Can everyone have it, be it, and create it?
Is it a natural gift? Or something we learn, acquire with practice and training?

Art, I love Art...whatever that is. I do not know if I learned it in my one class in basic drawing in my junior year in High School, or in the 2 years of Art History… or if it has always been there. I know I was drawing before I could write, I know I was drawing because it made me feel good…but the most important part of all I know that my mother was a painter, not a big fancy Picasso like, not even the ones you see in galleries, she never showed in galleries, and her paintings where not hanging in fancy homes…there where just in my home....

I remember a room in a home far away so long ago..... a 2 story home in Yaoundé, Cameroon, a child room with a whole wall painted with a scene portraying Disney Aristocats...I remember my mother painting an extra kitten...since we she like to have everything in 4, since we were 4 children.
I can still see the kittens, and I was so small then...

I remember a room in a home where the closest city was 6 hours way, where the school house had children from the age of 6 to 12 all in one room. A room where I was “supposed” to nap every afternoon, but a room I would sneak out off every afternoon, and I remember the wall full of drawings of princesses and unicorns, doggies and families, trees and castles all hanging by push pins and tape…pictures made by me, my own private gallery.

I remember a room in a big country home in Italy where canvases were laying around and toys everywhere, a big play room for her 4 children where she could paint and watch them play…
At the age of 8 I picked up my first paint brush, and under her guidance I selected the colors, the brushes and the technique on how to hold a brush, how to switch form one color to another since my mother painted with oils. I painted a house... an ugly house with strange dark colors because no matter what I did, my brushes where never clean enough, and I kept dragging one color over another, and my hand was shaking so the house had the famous lean od the Tower of Pisa, but my mother said it was beautiful, and I believed her. My first paining hung on the wall of the game room along side her paintings.

I never stopped painting, I never will, might take a break since life has a habit of getting in the way, but I’ll never stop…I love Art because it makes me happy, it allows me to be free to express myself in ways words can’t compare, and at the same time to hide a part of me I do not want to world to see…
I love Art...for Art reminds me of her.

Till the next time

Beauty is but a vain and doubtful good; a shining gloss that fadeth suddenly; a flower that dies when it begins to bud; a doubtful good, a gloss, a glass, a flower, lost, faded, broken, dead within an hour. -

What happens when a whole bunch of Ghoul and Creatures get together for a Photoshoot?

Well we had a Feast!

There was lots of Blood, screams, growls, hisses, lots of flashes, some posing, and of course Laughter... and some where there was also some Chicken...

The Fest was hosted by 2 Crazy individuals...C. Alexander and Stormie Psy, Yours Truly (Me LOL) was assigned to create a Makeup and Hair Team for the event.

We had 19 Photographers, 18 models, 8 Makeup and Hair Stylists in attendance, no wounder poor Jade was being ripped apart and then someone found a young boy under the table...poor thing will have nightmares for the rest of his childhood...then might turn crazy like the rest of us.

Anyhow in between all the commotion we did get some images, but those will come later, for now enjoy images form the Feast ;)=

At the Bottom of each images I place the link for the photographer's web or mm account...so the give credit and I guess keep it legal LOL...

T. LeClerc Loose Powder!!!

Loose powder…Ever wandered which is the perrrrrfect powder? One that is so amazingly fine and light based on pure rice starch providing a matte finish and visibly smoothing lines…

Well I have found the perfect powder!!! Ok I did not find it… my husband gave me a gift certificate at Alexander Perfumes & Cosmetics…and that is where I discovered T. LeClerc Loose Powder!

T. LeClerc Loose Powder has the properties to master light and hide flaws while enhancing the complexion, it can also protects against negative effects of the sun and is generally well-tolerated even by sensitive skin types!! I have become addicted to it!!! Over foundation or on a bright summer day…over lotion!I apply it with a velour puff or powder brush. The puff when I do not wear foundation and the brush with foundation. I add a tab bit more under the eyes so to cover little imperfections and give me an extra humph.

The powders come in a 35g hand-sealed silver metal tin, and 16 different shades. There are travel sizes (7g in travel sized tin) for some of the shades as well. It’s on the high end of the cost…$50, but I have purchased mine over a year ago and will, I still have 1/3 left… I also place a small amount in a smaller powder container for my travel kit/retouch kit, mostly travel since I rarely need to “power my nose” during the day. I do suggest to transfer the powder in a different container if you need to travel…unfortunately the metal tin the powder comes in looks very pretty but it’s a total pain in the butt!!!
Otherwise I love this thing!!!

Enjoy!
